How To Market Your New Film

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Whether you’re a new writer, producer and / or manager, you may look for that one chance to make a difference in your life and that of others, but Hollywood has said no to you.

It does not matter, because companies increasingly come to support new filmmakers and you may be looking for them while they are looking for you.

The average Joe is not interested in a lot of movies coming out on the big screen as you assume. Instead, he is more interested in what happens in his own neighborhood and his wife is equally interested. Why is this your family film has not been demonstrated in the gymnasium at the local high school, church or your movies rated R in neighborhood bar? What about working with the owner of the neighborhood video store to get it in his store? Why do not we see flyers promoting your film? How come you did not bother to use your local college students to help spread the word about your film?

Some filmmakers have no affiliations and causes many obstacles for them also. Filmmakers know how to successfully market their films when they have not bothered to implement what they have observed others do?

Twelve filmmakers marketing strategies currently used in their marketing campaigns:

1) Creating a web site about their film.

Filmmakers provide a simple teaser draws the viewer into the film lacks more than they cut, leaving you wanting for more. Each site has contact information that is easy to find and all links are fully functional.

2) Keep blogging about their film.

Every day someone announces something on the site related to the synopsis of the film, photographs, company or people involved with the production, or other related information.

3) The registration of social networking websites.

Whether adding friends, keeping the “About Me Current section or discuss topics related to film in chat rooms, they are keeping the communication line on their film.

4) sending press releases to the Internet and local media.

All local media bothers to print a press release received something on the film if it is a short, poster, or something else that is promoting their new movie.

5) distributing leaflets to local films, books and music stores.

The information is professionally designed and easily accessible in the store. Sometimes it is located next to the free neighborhood newspapers.

6) email lists purchase.

The filmmaker has an idea of who his target market is such that this age group gender, background and interests of the film may be the person who saw the movie. With this information, he or she knows what kind of email list to buy.

7) professional memberships related to the film industry.

He or she is networking with others who may be able to help him with the film. The bigger the circle the more opportunities to meet the right person or group.

8) Getting listed in the movie databases on the Internet.

Average Joe should be able to get online and find your movie in the database for someone if he or she can not find you somewhere, then you know you have a lot of work to do. Try this, type the name of your movie in the search window, if it does not appear on the first page is a good indication that you have not done a good job of marketing. Find someone who can write an article about you, your business and film. Then have a distribution service to distribute the article to other article websites (this tactic is called article marketing.) Once you get this done, see how it will be easy to locate information on your movie online when someone searches for you.

9) Hosting parties screening.

No longer the party of the pure joy of it, the filmmakers use every opportunity to party as a way to get their film there. Change the way you typically host parties.

10) Transfer of movie stills to sites of photography.

See what other directors have done with that, just type in an independent film that you really like and see what kind of presence they have on site photography.

11) Transfer of trailers for video sites.

Again, see what competitors have done with that, then go to a site that offers books on the subject than to visit someone freebie. You want to get instructions on doing the first time. Lost time is lost money, learning professionals.

12) Offer gifts such as t-shirts and posters advertising their film.

People love free stuff, so if you can make donations related to your film, do, in time, you will get something back for your efforts, fans!

All these tactics take time to implement. Take a daily task list and work until you have completed all twelve. When you have completed these tasks, start looking for other ideas that you can accomplish in a certain time limit you set yourself. Without delay, you will not get anything done. To your success!

Hollywood Anime Film Roundup

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

“/ Strong With the new year and the growing popularity of movies based on comic books, I thought I’d do a round-up Hollywood movies on Anime and status of them. In my opinion, so far, we have seen nothing but disastrous results. Speed Racer was too bright and reminded me of playing CandyLand like a child for any reason, and Dragonball: Evolution has been one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen period. Then there was Transformers: Revenge of the . In fact, I liked it, as I did not expect the poetry of a movie Transformers, but again it could have been much better, one thing I hated most was the daughter Decepticons College. . Anyway, below are the titles I know that are based on anime or manga and some form of development. Cowboy Bebop : Fox is moving forward with Cowboy Bebop , which is scheduled for a release date of 2011. Keanu Reeves is rumored to be the star with Erwin Stoff producing. Hopefully Fox will not turn to it in a train accident, as they did with DBE. Akira : scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who worked on Ironman are working on the script and have completed a few sips, but Recently, Contributing Writer Gary Whitta, said they have not worked for a year. If Warner Bros. he loves, he will go into production next year. Its not known if Leonardo DiCaprio is still attached to produce. Whitta also said the film will follow all six volumes of the manga by Katsuhiro Otomo, unlike the famous 1988 animated film that has really focused on the first 2. Ninja Scroll : the IMDB has this set a date for release in 2011, and says that Leonardo DiCaprio is producing. DiCaprio said he would be interested in using the members of SMAP Masahiro Nakai, Takuya Kimura, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Goro Inagaki and Shingo Katorito stars, but would not act in it or Akira himself. To that I say, not a bad choice, maybe someone in Hollywood is, as Leo, a big fan of anime, said he did not intend to use another person the Japanese for Ninja Scroll or Akira . Macross : Known as Robotech in the U.S. – I have not heard anything about it, other than Tobey Maguire is passionate enough to decisions, and starring in this movie, but Spider-Man 4-6 per pike it does not look like he will get the chance to take on another potential franchise. Thinking about this film, incidentally, believes that this fact in mind the movie Jamie Foxx S , which was a flagrant < strong> Macross Plus rip-off if I’ve never seen one. . Battle Angel Alita : James Cameron has been talking to this film for what seems to be 10 years. He told MTV News that avatar (which was a box office success despite mixed reviews.) Would be a testing ground to see if a Battle Angel Alita could even be made with today’s technology. Although I have not seen, I think, and what I heard, Avatar is visually stunning. Cameron plans to do Battle Angel Alita if the first trilogy was a success and have closely followed the manga. Sounds good, but Cameron has also announced more than 2 Avatar Battle Angel Alita for a few years at least. Tekken : Not really an anime based movie, but it was anime and manga incarnations I decided to add it, but I must say, from what I mean, this movie is terrible. Complete with actors and actresses that you never thought to associate with the characters they are actually based on a director (Dwight H. Little) whose credits include gems 2 Anacondas: The Hunt For The Blood Orchid and Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home , and an incoherent story – Tekken promises to be one of the films worst of 2010. Ghost in the : In 2008, DreamWorks, who also made the U.S. version for Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence has acquired the rights to produce a live-action film adaptation of the original manga by Masamune Shirow with Steven Spielberg directing. Avi Arad and Steven Paul are confirmed producers Shutter Island Laeta Kalogridis scribe is writing a script. The live-action film is ready to be released in 2011. Voltron : The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment and Jason Netter of Kickstart Entertainment has acquired the film rights to the series 1980s anime and are currently looking for a writer, before touring the studios. I remember the president of Fox Studios say that when he was in Sentinals X-2: X-Men and X-Men 3: The Last Stand and Galactus in Fantastic Four 2: The Rise of the Silver Surfer – He will never allow giant robots in any movie is his studio. But with the insane success of the franchise Transformers, attitudes seem to change and it should be taken by a studio soon. Neon Genesis Evangelion – The IMDB lists this film as an Untitled Project Neon Genesis Evangelion with a date of 2012 (the year end of the world.) There were talks, and art concept of live action Neon Genesis Evangelion float around Internet for years, and this film is always pushed ahead, however, there is no script, and again, like Voltron : The studios wanted to ensure that the robot “Giant” movie would appeal to an American audience. Negotiations between Hollywood studios and Gainax are processed by Joseph Cho, who helped produce “ Appleseed: Ex Machina , an animated film based on the Appleseed then Mr. Cho previous experience in the treatment of type Studio. It is also reported that the film will cost over 100 to 120,000,000 dollars to make, including Fortune magazine reported ADV Films has raised half. There has been no official announcement in about a year if, and current status of the film is unknown after the sudden collapse and sale of assets of AD Vision September 1, 2009. Gatchaman is scheduled for release in 2011 and will be CGI animated film created by Imagi Animation Studios (the company that had TMNT ) in association with Tatsunoko Production Pictures and Warner Bros.. The film has a PG-13 rating and a budget of $ 110 million. Here’s a trailer for the film which was recorded at Anime Expo ’09. Gigantor (T-28) : Hikari Productions and Imagi launched a teaser for it, but they indicated that the production T-28 < ; / strong> depend on the success of the World Wide Astro Boy , as this article has only $ 21,159,327 back its budget of 65 million dollars. 2 Furious Reborn : Despite the lack of positive feedback, fans hate him, and that the French participation in the funeral of Goku
